Studio Praerie

A snapshot of retro design for a creative software developer.

Journey

A degree-holding software developer, Studio Praerie needed a visual identity that could help make projects memorable.

This required a design overhaul, including logo design, a range of iconography, fonts and style, to create a cohesive identity for the name — and to catch the eye of users, potential clients and employers.

Outcome

Following a discussion over favoured colours and themes, a distinctive floppy disk brand mark was made, combining a retro aesthetic with a modern ‘sticker’ styling.

A variety of icons and a repeating pattern were made to further carry the brand through the website following the same principles: a polaroid camera, pointing cursor, computer, settings sliders, journal, user icon and more. These will serve to illustrate different sections and functions of Studio Praerie’s portfolio, driving the brand identity further.

Heading and body fonts were similarly chosen to be strikingly clear, with a soft edge to match.

I provide ongoing design support with Studio Praerie projects and creations.
